EVENT INFORMATION: Non-competitive 10K or Half Marathon walks especially for adults age 50+, but open to families and friends. Choose between a 6.2 mile or 13.1 mile looping once or twice around Lake Union. Event includes water/snack stations, live music along the way, prizes and special athletic-t-shirts. Invite your family and friends to walk with you or cheer you on. From February through June, Sound Steps provides free Saturday morning training walks in north and south Seattle to prepare you for the event. Contact commissioner for more information.

Start/l finish: Gasworks Park on the north side of Lake Union (2101 North Northlake Way).

Marigrace Becker coordinates the Sound Steps Walking Program, a Seattle Parks and Recreation walking program for adults age 50+. She is currently completing her Masters in Social Work with a focus on aging. The Sound Steps program includes ongoing weekly walking groups and special events for active older adults.
